Rihanna Speaks Out About Hurricane Irma At The Launch of Her Fenty Beauty Line : “It Breaks My Heart”

Published

on

Rihanna was a vision of beauty in yellow as she launched her Fenty Beauty Line in NYC on Thursday.

“Extra’s” AJ Calloway was with the Grammy winner from Barbados on the red carpet. While she was happy to be celebrating her line, she admitted her thoughts were on Hurricane Irma and the Caribbean.

She said her home country and family are luckily okay, “My family is safe, Barbados is very safe right now. It breaks my heart to see what is happening in the rest of the Caribbean, my neighboring islands, you feel helpless when it’s a natural disaster you have no control and these are islands that I have been to and love… It’s so sad.”

RiRi recently graced not one, but three, Elle magazine covers to celebrate her makeup launch. Looking flawless on one cover with a giant heart on her face. Rihanna said, “That was fun. A nice big lavender heart on my face… I’m so OCD, I wanted the edges to be so super sharp and clean, it had to be the perfect heart, I love it.” She said they actually used her makeup for the look.

Going way back with our AJ and having a little fun with him for interviewing her about makeup, she said, “They’re going to let you talk to me about make up… Let’s do it, I want to see what you got.” AJ replied, “You want to talk about the contour, the colors, what brushes you use.” Rihanna laughed, saying, “Contour, that’s a big word.”

The 29-year-old told AJ she was very hands on with the line, “You know me, I’m a control freak, especially anything with my name on it, my face on it, this was creating from scratch, from product to packaging to the boxes, to the shade names, every aspect, I enjoyed it because I had complete control.”

She added, “This was the funnest aspect of my career.” Making diversity a priority, she said, “I wanted all girls to feel included… Everybody has their shade someone just has to make it, we started at 40 shades and we will continue to expand that.”

Promising she will bring her make up to the Caribbean “The Caribbean cannot be excluded we will make sure that that happens right now whatever you can find a Sephora store or a Harvey Nicholas it is in there.”

And after having one of the hottest songs of the summer making another promise for her fans, “There’s always more music on the way, it’s just when.”

Grammy Winning Tyla Hits A Fashion Milestone

Grammy Winning Tyla Hits A Fashion Milestone | Fab.ng

When South Africa’s rising pop star, Tyla, chooses her clothes, there are two essential qualities she looks for: the ability to allow her to dance freely and the ability to move comfortably.

While describing her personal style, the young and talented artist who brought us the hit song “Water” emphasized the importance of feeling comfortable. However, her definition of comfort does not extend to casual attire like sweatpants and jerseys, particularly when she is in the public eye.

Additionally, the rise of her online presence on TikTok, which now boasts over 7.2 million followers, has seen “comfortable” translate to performing her own dance routines in unique outfits like macramé tube tops and very short miniskirts.

Just weeks ago, “comfortable” meant a glamorous, seafoam green Versace gown shimmering with fishnet overlays—a dazzling costume fit for a modern Venus. Tyla wore this as she proudly accepted the first-ever Grammy for Best African Music Performance for her chart-topping R&B hit, “Water.” Today, “comfortable” has a whole new meaning: a stylish linen set as she dances effortlessly in Gap’s Spring 2024 campaign, marking her debut with a major global fashion brand.

The video showcases Tyla and a group of dancers performing Shay Latukolan’s energetic choreography to “Back On 74,” a catchy, genre-blending song by the British group Jungle, which has amassed over one billion views on TikTok.

Each dancer is adorned in comfortable and flowing pieces from Gap’s spring collection, crafted from breathable linen fabric. Tyla’s outfit features a stylish cropped top and relaxed-fit cargo pants, accented by a swaying chain-link belt. The video not only highlights the comfortable nature of the clothing but also demonstrates how it can convey confidence and a touch of elegance, making it perfect for both movement and style.

“I love marrying my music and the way I look, I feel like it goes hand in hand,” Tyla explains. “I see that also sonically with my album that’s coming out, and with the Gap campaign.”

As Tyla embarks on her first major tour and showcases her characteristic drive and ambition, the artist is infusing her on-stage style with even more personal expression.

A passionate supporter of South African designers, such as the talented LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize winner Thebe Magugu, she proudly weaves elements of her heritage into her fashion choices.

Beyoncé’s ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ Tops Billboard Hot 100 Chart | Fab.ng

Beyoncé has established herself as one of the most successful superstars of all time and is no stranger to topping the Billboard charts. However, this week, she has achieved a new milestone by reaching the highest position on a particular ranking that she has never been able to attain before. Beyoncé’s latest single, “Texas Hold ‘Em,” has climbed to the top spot on the Country Streaming Songs chart, marking her first No. 1 on this particular ranking.

The upbeat track features twangy guitar riffs and a catchy chorus that showcases Beyoncé’s ability to seamlessly blend country and pop influences.

While Beyoncé’s song “Texas Hold ‘Em” has been climbing the Country Streaming Songs chart for a while, it has just reached the coveted top spot for the very first time. Last week, the track made its debut in second place, just behind the collaboration between Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves, “I Remember Everything.” However, this week, “Texas Hold ‘Em” has surged ahead, claiming the number one position, while “I Remember Everything” takes a respectable second place.

Even though Beyoncé is incredibly popular and has tried out many different music styles, it is not altogether unexpected that she had not reached the top spot on the Country Streaming Songs chart before now. While she has experimented with country music on a few occasions in the past, these instances were rare, and her music is not generally recognized for its country influences.

“Texas Hold ‘Em” has been well-received by fans and critics alike.

“Texas Hold ‘Em” has become a major hit on the country music charts, reaching the top spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs and Country Digital Song Sales lists. This marks the first time Beyoncé has ever topped these charts. Her success extends even further, as “Texas Hold ‘Em” now also reigns supreme on the Country Streaming Songs chart.

Throughout her long career, Beyoncé has only had two songs appear on the Country Streaming Songs chart. “16 Carriages,” released alongside “Texas Hold ‘Em,” debuted at number eight on the chart but has since slipped to number ten. However, “Texas Hold ‘Em” has proven to be a true chart-topper across the board in the country music genre. Its success on the Country Streaming Songs chart is a testament to the song’s widespread appeal.
