Enioluwa On Inhumane Treatment Of Crossdresser | Fab.ng

Enioluwa Adeoluwa, a social media influencer and public figure, has spoken out against the harassment of a crossdresser captured in a viral video on social media.

In the video, bystanders were seen assaulting the crossdresser, with one individual even using a plank to strike them. Enioluwa expressed his disapproval of the incident on his official X page, describing it as “inhumane and unjust.”

He emphasised that individuals should not be subjected to violence or harassment based on their choices or sexual orientation. Enioluwa urged the public to respect people’s decisions and advocated for a world where everyone can live without fear of such mistreatment.

He wrote,

“It is inhumane, it is unjust, and it is unkind to pick up a plank and hit another human because you do not agree with their choices or sexual orientation. Leave people alone. Everyone deserves to live their life without the fear of violence or harassment and, most notably, physical violence. Even if we don’t agree with someone’s choices, we must resist the urge to inflict harm. It’s hypocritical to speak up against oppression while we remain oppressors.”

In a separate post, Adeoluwa encouraged the public to adhere to “lawful process” instead of resorting to vigilante justice.

He continued,

“You can decide to misconstrue what I have said, but regardless of our personal beliefs or preferences, justice should never be selective. Once it is, then it simply does not exist. We cannot resort to violence or harm against others simply because we disagree with their choices or lifestyles. Just as we would report illegal activities to the authorities, we must uphold the principle of due process and refrain from taking justice into our own hands. We must reject the notion that violence is justified based on our perceptions of stereotypes and misconceptions. Disputes should and must be resolved through lawful means.”

In April 2022, a new law was proposed in Nigeria that would make it illegal for people to cross-dress. This proposal came as an amendment to an existing law against same-sex marriage. Muda Umar, a member of the House of Representatives, introduced the amendment.

If the amendment had been passed, anyone caught cross-dressing could have been sentenced to up to six months in jail. However, the amendment was not successful, and cross-dressing is not currently illegal in Nigeria.

Mr. Macaroni Says He's Not In For A Relationship | Fab.ng

In a recent interview on WAZOBIA FM, Nigerian comedian and actor Mr. Macaroni revealed his current relationship status. While Mr. Macaroni admitted that he admires someone special, he also shared that he’s chosen to stay single for now.

The reason behind his decision? He jokingly referred to “chopping breakfast,” and it seems he’s not quite ready for that kind of emotional rollercoaster.

He started,

“My love life is in a state of hullabaloo. It’s topsy-turvy. I cannot speak for the women who may be eyeing me but I can speak for myself. I have someone that I admire. I have been very single for the most part of my life and right now I’m not looking for relationships, marriage or anything that involves a love affair because I’m not ready to chop breakfast.”

The radio host took a turn in the conversation, asking Mr. Macaroni if his single relationship status might have been a driving force behind his achievements. Perhaps the focus on his career without the added demands of a relationship allowed him to excel.

However, Mr. Macaroni politely disagreed. He indicated that being single wasn’t a major factor in his success, suggesting that his drive and talent likely played a bigger role.

“I disagree with the notion that being in a relationship might have made my rise to success slower. Even though I say I don’t want to have a relationship, I still have one or two people that I talk to that keep me going. So I would never downplay the essence of companionship,” he said.

Yemi Alade Fumes At Colleagues Downplaying Afrobeats | Fab.ng

Nigerian singer Yemi Alade is upset with some of her fellow musicians who downplay Afrobeats. She recently posted on social media that they shouldn’t downplay Afrobeats in interviews. She thinks it’s hypocritical because Afrobeats helped all of them develop as artists.

Yemi Alade says if these musicians don’t feel like Afrobeats represents their music anymore, that’s fine, but they should just say so and move on. She’s also critical of Nigerians in general for focusing on musicians who put themselves down online instead of holding the government accountable for recent problems in the country.

Yemi wrote,

“I don’t see anything wrong in informing your listeners of the genre of music an artist makes, especially when you feel it doesn’t define your art. Just announce your Genre in peace. Downplaying the role Afrobeats has played in every artist’s development is hypocrisy.”

In the past few weeks, some Nigerian musicians have been saying they don’t want to be associated with Afrobeats anymore. They argue that the term Afrobeats was created by people from outside of Africa and is just a way to limit the kind of music African artists can make.
