Singer 9ice signs new deal with Temple Management Company

9ice has joined the likes of Mavins Records and Iyanya by signing a deal with Temple Management Company.

The deal was consummated on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the corporate office of the company in Victoria Island, Lagos and witnessed by representatives of both parties.

While receiving 9ice, Idris Olorunnimbe, CEO/ Founder, TMC noted that 9ice still commands a strong place in Nigerian music.

“We recognize the foundation that 9ice has built and established, together we can build on and take it to newer heights,” Olorunnimbe said.

“At Temple Management Company, we do not gamble but believe in strategy and pinpoint execution,” he added.

He explained further, “With our team and structure, we are here to support 9ice to actualize his career goals. In 9ice, we see a brand that has an important and strategic core that we can expand.”

In under a year, the management company is now positioned as a powerhouse in the creative sector having amassed clients in sports, arts, media and of course, entertainment. Some of its clients include Don Jazzy, Mavin Records, Project Fame winner, Jeff and Iyanya,

In his remarks, 9ice said, “For me, this is the right thing to do at this stage in my career and indeed for any forward thinking artiste. When we started music, we grew with the knowledge that everything was all about the artiste; you are the manager, owner of the record label etc. We did this to the best of our ability.”

“This is the time to give experienced professionals the chance to take care of you because one will become the better for it. Temple Management are like our own Sony or BMG in Nigeria. Any artiste who plans to grow need to work with the right people such as Temple Management Company,” 9ice noted.

On his new direction, 9ice said that with the backing of his new management, he is working assiduously to release new music and will explore an international fan base.

In a recent interview with CNN, singer Simi surprised fans with a revelation about her love life. Simi, known for her hit songs and collaborations with her husband, Adekunle Gold, admitted she never intended to date a singer.

Simi went on to explain that when she first met Adekunle Gold, she wasn’t even aware he harboured musical aspirations. This detail highlights the unpredictable nature of love and how it can blossom in unexpected places. It seems fate intervened, bringing together two talented singers who would not only find love but also forge a successful musical partnership.

“I get the irony and I guess that was also part of the challenge. I didn’t know that he was trying to be a singer because I had actually made the choice to never date someone in the industry,” she said in between laughter.

“When I met him he was working in a company and people used to know him as the king of photoshop because he used to make these funny edits and I didn’t know he was trying to be a singer. Next thing you know we’re dating and I’m getting comfortable,” she added.

The interview didn’t stop there!

CNN also asked Simi about the challenges of balancing marriage and singing careers. Simi assured fans that she and Adekunle Gold have figured out a way to make it work. They seem to have a clear understanding of when to switch between “work mode” and being a couple, which helps them maintain a healthy balance in their lives.

She said,

“One thing I think we’ve been blessed with is how we are always on the same page and when we’re not we always find a way. We’re very respectful of each other’s crafts and opinions as singers. We also think it’s important to create boundaries work is work and I think we’ve been able to do very good with that.”

Simi and Adekunle Gold kept their wedding under wraps in 2019. They reportedly said “I do” at a private ceremony on Ilashe Beach. Their family quickly grew even more joyous with the arrival of their daughter, Adejare, in 2020.

Singer Brymo sparked a debate online after leaving a comment on the latest Instagram post by Tiwa Savage. Tiwa had shared a glamorous photo with the flirty caption, “You’re in my head, Papi.” However, Brymo shifted the focus by commenting on her recent collaboration with Simi, “Men Are Crazy.”

Brymo took issue with the song’s title and lyrics, specifically the line “Men Are Crazy.” He argued that male musicians rarely write songs generalising women in such a way. Brymo’s comment questioned Tiwa’s motivations behind the song’s theme and lyrics. This sparked discussion and debate among fans about the portrayal of gender in music.

He commented, “Hey @tiwasavage. I’d like to know the thoughts behind the … “men are c***y” line…. because it’s the one crazy” thing boys say most in private spaces about your gender, and none of us ever made a song exclusively about how deranged y’all are… Yet you did with Simi, and you are the first of both that I am seeing post from since then… So I ask; did you play reverse psychology on us and make the song a projection? and gaslighting the shit out of me by that??? …. or have real reasons to say so?? and if it be the latter, expand it for me, please!!”

Tiwa Savage and Simi haven’t responded to the comment Brymo left so far.

This all comes just after they released their new song together, “Men Are Crazy,” on April 5, 2024. It’s the first time these two popular singers have collaborated on a song.

Tunde Onakoya To Break 58 Hours Of Chess Marathon | fab.ng

Nigerian chess champion Tunde Onakoya is trying to break the world record for the longest chess marathon! The record he is set to break is 58 hours.

Tunde Onakoya has already been playing in the chess marathon for approximately 44 hours straight. This is at the time of this writing. Starting on April 17th and going until April 19th, the event is happening in the famous Times Square in New York City.

So far, Onakoya has beaten everyone he’s played, including a really good chess player from New York named Shawn Martinez.

Onakoya’s manager, Taiwo, says the official rules allow for 5-minute breaks every hour. But Onakoya only took a total of 30 minutes of rest after playing 12 people in a row for 15 hours! That’s intense! He said he’s playing two sets of games at the same time, and he can’t lose any of them to win the record.

He wrote,

“The opponent on the first set is Shawn Martinez, a US National Chess Master, and he will play with Tunde throughout the attempt.

“Opponents in the second set are random players. He can’t lose any game on either set.

“Only Tunde’s match against Shawn Martinez is considered valid for the record. He is not competing in his simultaneous play against random opponents in the second set. NYC, come out and play regardless.”
