Comedian and actor Mr. Macaroni expressed anger towards Grammy-winning singer Wizkid for making a disrespectful statement about music executive and Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy. 

Wizkid dissed Don Jazzy on Monday after Ladipoe, a Mavin signee, criticised him. When informed about Ladipoe’s remarks, Wizkid arrogantly claimed he would never communicate with anyone labelled as an influencer. He also retweeted two tweets implying that Don Jazzy was merely a social media influencer.

Reacting on his X handle, Mr. Macaroni defended Don Jazzy, highlighting his influence across music, content creation, films, and brand endorsements. He criticised Wizkid’s disrespectful portrayal of Don Jazzy as just an influencer, emphasising Don Jazzy’s significant contributions to the Nigerian music industry.

Mr. Macaroni praised Don Jazzy as an absolute legend and commended his selfless support for entertainers in Nigeria, irrespective of their status.

Mr Macaroni wrote, 

“Don Jazzy is perhaps the biggest entertainment influencer in Africa. And the beautiful thing is that his influence cuts through. From music to content, films, brands, etc. However, we would all be hypocrites to say that the context in which he was called an influencer isn’t disrespectful to everything he has done and is still doing for the Nigerian music industry. An absolute legend.”

Donjazzy is perhaps the biggest Entertainment Influencer in Africa. And the beautiful thing is that his influence cuts across. From music, to contents, films, brands etc.

On April 29, 2024, Wizkid went on his X account to connect with fans, which is a rare occurrence. During this online session, he caused a bit of controversy. In one of his posts, Wizkid expressed his admiration for a video featuring Flavour and Prophet Odumeje, also known as Indaboski Bahose, promoting their latest collaboration called “Powers.” 

He described it as his “favourite video in life.”

In the video, Prophet Odumeje was seen dressed in a shiny red two-piece outfit, confidently listing his powers, while Flavour cheered him on.

After Wizkid’s praise for Indaboski, fans sent him more videos of the prophet, which he commented on and reposted. 

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck shared a picture of himself in a video call with Indaboski, mentioning that he conveyed Wizkid’s compliments to the prophet. Wizkid responded to Odumodublvck’s post by asking him to send his regards to Indaboski.

Prophet Odumeje gained internet fame through viral videos of his preaching. He is known for boasting about his numerous powers and previously promising to use them to help Nigeria combat the devaluation of the naira. He fulfilled this promise by releasing his latest single, “Powers,” featuring Flavour, where he showcased his abilities.

However, Wizkid’s time online wasn’t without controversy. He referred to Don Jazzy as an influencer after a fan pointed out Ladipoe’s post.

Additionally, he playfully teased Davido by referencing a viral video where Davido was crying. This suggested that he wants his fans to beg him for new music in a similar manner.
